Social Research Program

This program enables volunteers to engage in ground-level research on socioeconomic issues of the local communities. Volunteers may assist NGOs/Community-based organizations in conducting social research surveys on various topics such as maternal health awareness, environmental awareness, government policy awareness (food distribution, agriculture support, other public services), banking & financial services (insurance) awareness, alcohol awareness and education quality/outcomes.

Volunteers compile and analyse the research findings to provide recommendations on interventions required from local NGOs, community—based organizations, local government and even the private sector, to fill any gaps. Volunteers may also propose new services and policy initiatives based on their research findings. We believe that a volunteer (especially from a foreign country) would have a fresh perspective on community issues and that perspective can be a very useful ingredient for future interventions by local public, private and the non-governmental organizations.
